PAULA READE

Originally from France, Paula is a partly self-taught visual artist with 30 years of experience,

now living and practicing in Naarm (Melbourne). Her work navigates the space between

representational art and instinctual abstraction, primarily using acrylics. As a keen observer of

human behavior, Paula deconstructs everyday social situations within her practice to translate

them into symbolic outcomes. This conceptual focus is balanced by a deeply intuitive abstract

approach, characterized by bold, sweeping brushstrokes and vibrant hues.
