STAR BREATH reflects a shared journey between Brigid Burke, and Steven Broughton, shaped by a deep connection to the natural world and a commitment to experimental, sensory art-making. Brigid's practice blends sound, video, drawing, and mixed media to create immersive environments that explore the interplay between nature, abstraction, and emotion. As both a visual artist and musician, Brigid uses original sound compositions and manipulated imagery to reflect the layered rhythms of the landscapes she engages with. Steven’s journey is rooted in landscape oil painting. With a background in illustration and design, his expressive, textured works respond to the Australian environment particularly rivers, coastlines, and skies. His paintings are rich in colour and gesture, capturing light, movement, and mood. Together, they bring their practices into dialogue, responding to place through sound, image, and emotion.
