KIMBAROSS

Painter/printmaker/general art adventure
Artist Statement: Born and raised on a farm in NE Victoria, I moved to Melbourne for an education
of sorts. I am a visual artist who primarily paints and draws. Mild-mannered public servant most
days, I volunteer as a firefighter and Army Reservist on others. I am fascinated by people and places
and how they interact with each other. My works celebrate the everyday mundane-the things that
we do, the interactions or connections we have every day. Taken for granted and given little thought,
these events have a cumulative effect on our very being. Sometimes they harden us but more often,
over time, hopefully they soften us. My art gives thanks for all the fortunate things in my life,
sometimes it conveys sweet sorrow or bittersweet joy but never melancholy or regret. As an artist, I
am very much trying my best to give back to my community after all of the years it has consistently
and quietly nurtured me. Hopefully my art is an extension of this and gives others comfort; it does
for me. -Kimbaross, 2024
